About the Role:

Giant Tiger is seeking a highly skilled and experienced IT Infrastructure Architect to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our IT infrastructure, including networking, servers, storage, databases, security, and backups.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain the organization's IT infrastructure, including networking, servers, storage, databases, security, and backups.
  • Develop and implement IT infrastructure processes to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and security.
  • Oversee the design, deployment, and maintenance of network infrastructure, including LAN/WAN, routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
  • Oversee the design, deployment, and maintenance of server infrastructure, including virtualization, operating systems, and server hardware.
  • Oversee the design, deployment, and maintenance of storage solutions, including SAN/NAS systems and data backup/recovery processes.
  • Ensure the security of IT systems and data through the implementation of security measures and procedures.
  • Monitor and analyze system performance, capacity, and availability, and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Manage IT projects related to infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and expansions.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams and departments to support business needs and objectives.
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices in IT infrastructure management and technology.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 10 years of experience in IT infrastructure management or a similar role.
  • Proficiency in managing storage solutions, backup/recovery processes, and data protection technologies.
  • Strong understanding of database management systems (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, DB2).
  • Knowledge of networking principles and protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and routing/switching.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, practices, and tools, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and security policies.
