We are seeking a meticulous and motivated Analyst/Senior Analyst to become a vital part of the Business Management team within the Credit Investments (CI) division. This department oversees all public and private credit investments for CPP Investments on a global scale. The CI Business Management team spearheads operational activities that ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of CI's functions.
The Analyst/Senior Analyst will play a key role in delivering essential outputs and initiatives related to capital budgeting, portfolio analysis, and the upkeep of internal systems and investment data. This position requires collaboration with CI investment and strategy teams, the Total Fund Management team, and various other support teams across CPP Investments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage CI's Capital Ledger process, which is essential for supporting the Fund's capital management. This entails working closely with CI investment teams, Total Fund Management, and other supporting functions.
- Assist in the analysis and reporting of deployment and disposition activities, including performance attribution across different groups and strategies within CI.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of all data crucial to CI's investment process, encompassing both upstream sources and downstream applications.
- Oversee the ongoing collection and evaluation of vital data elements pertinent to portfolio management.
- Support portfolio analysis and management reporting, including the quarterly monitoring of the portfolio.
- Proactively implement process enhancements that facilitate investment decision-making and portfolio management.
- Conduct ad-hoc analyses to support business management and contribute to various departmental and enterprise projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Up to 3 years of experience in finance and/or investment, with knowledge of the credit asset class being a significant advantage.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Familiarity with Python, VBA, and SQL is beneficial.
- Highly organized with a strong sense of accountability.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and the ability to produce high-quality work under tight deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-driven with the capacity to think critically and creatively.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to quickly learn new concepts and thrive in a high-performance environment.
