About This Job

We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our team at Astellas Pharma Inc.

The successful candidate will provide technical support and troubleshooting to the Operations and Engineering Teams, ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing processes. Key responsibilities include:

  • Implementing effective guides and procedures for equipment operation and troubleshooting
  • Optimizing equipment design principles to improve efficiency and productivity
  • Providing technical training and documentation to ensure knowledge sharing and best practices
  • Collaborating with Validation Engineers to develop and execute validation protocols
  • Performing data analysis to ensure manufacturing and test readiness
  • Contributing to lean manufacturing initiatives to optimize efficiency and reduce waste

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering or a related field, with industry experience in Biologics/Pharmaceutical manufacturing or other relevant GMP environments. A deep understanding of biologics drug substance manufacturing processes, particularly aseptic filling and lyophilization, is highly desirable.

Key Requirements:

  • Minimum bachelor's degree in engineering or related field
  • Industry experience in Biologics/Pharmaceutical manufacturing or other relevant GMP environments
  • Strong understanding of biologics drug substance manufacturing processes
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Requirements:

  • Direct experience in drug manufacturing
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing techniques, statistical analysis, and data science techniques
