Job Title: Baker/Breakfast Cook

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Baker/Breakfast Cook to join our team at Dexterra Group. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking breakfast and baked goods to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and bake goods from scratch, ensuring high-quality standards are met.
• Restock pastry shelves and maintain a sufficient and fresh supply of baked goods.
• Create and follow menus to ensure quality of baked goods and desserts.
• Wrap and date all baked goods in accordance with production schedule.
• Ensure consistent quality standards in overall food preparation, considering special dietary constraints.
• Operate equipment safely and maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen environment.
• Comply with food hygiene regulations and ensure proper food safety practices.
• Supervise night shift employees, providing mentorship and training.

Requirements

• Interprovincial Red Seal Certification or equivalent culinary education.
• FoodSafe Level I certification, with SafeCheck advanced food safety certification or HACCP certification an asset.
• Minimum 3 years' cooking and baking experience in a similar or hotel/institutional environment.
• Proven experience preparing baked goods for large numbers of guests.
• Prior supervisory experience.
• Successful candidates must obtain a mark of 80% or higher on the mandatory WHMIS test.
