About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Store Manager to join our team at Gaetan Riendeau Inc. in a retail business setting. Key Responsibilities
  • Staff Management: Manage a team of 5-10 employees, including grocery clerks and shelf stockers, and provide guidance and support to ensure they meet their job expectations.
  • Merchandise and Services: Determine the types of merchandise and services to be sold, and implement pricing and credit policies to maximize sales and profitability.
  • Operations: Plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate daily operations, including inventory management, stockroom organization, and customer service.
  • Customer Service: Resolve customer complaints and issues in a professional and courteous manner, and ensure that customer needs are met.
  • Performance Reviews: Conduct regular performance reviews with staff to identify areas for improvement and provide feedback and coaching.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a retail or grocery store environment, or equivalent experience.
  • Language: Fluency in French is required.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to stand for extended periods, handle heavy loads, and work in a fast-paced environment.
