Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Road Service Technician to join our team at Johnston Equipment. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for conducting maintenance checks and diagnosing repairs for lift trucks and carousels at customer sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Examine the overall operational integrity and condition of the trucks.
  • Find defective or worn-out mechanical or electrical parts and communicate and execute next steps for repair solutions to the customer.
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance.
  • Diagnose and order parts according to technical manuals.
  • Document and analyze breakdowns based on standard procedures.

Requirements:

  • High school completion or equivalent education proficiency and/or minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Mechanical Technician or equivalent related experience.
  • Automotive Certification (310S) or Heavy Duty Technician Certification (421A) is an asset.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems of battery and engine-powered material handling equipment.
  • Knowledge of the use of hand tools and measuring devices, knowledge of the use of electrical/electronic diagnostic tools/measurements.
  • Experience with industrial equipment that involves lifting/rigging, maintaining, dismantling, and installing machinery and industrial mechanical service equipment.
  • Experience aligning above equipment, using dial indicators/calipers, micrometers, hoists, or jacks is a plus.
  • Able to interpret and implement technical procedures.
  • Solid knowledge of general Lock-out/Tag-out procedures.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Customer service-oriented.
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to be flexible and work in a fast-paced and changing environment.
  • Possess a valid driver's license.
