Job Title: Fish Plant Worker

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Fish Plant Worker to join our team at Connors Bros. Division of Clover Leaf Seafoods Corp.

Job Summary:

The Fish Plant Worker will be responsible for performing various tasks related to fish processing, handling, and packaging. This includes cutting and weighing fish fillets, inspecting products for quality, and operating machinery to can, bag, or box fish and seafood products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Cut and weigh fish fillets according to specifications
  • Inspect fish fillets to determine the optimal number and size of fillets
  • Scrape away scales, cut fish, separate fillets, and remove scrap parts using a knife
  • Transport fish and shellfish to the work area
  • Condition fish fillets for wrapping or freezing
  • Check products and packaging for defects and ensure conformance to company standards
  • Record production information
  • Set up and operate machines to clean, cut, cook, smoke, brine, dehydrate, or otherwise process fish or seafood products
  • Weigh fish or shellfish, record weight, and pack fish in ice
  • Clean machines and immediate work areas
  • Measure and dump ingredients into hoppers of mixing and grinding machines
  • Sort fish according to species, weight, and destination
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • No prior experience required; on-the-job training provided
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks and handle heavy loads
  • Manual dexterity and attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a team environment
Work Environment:

The Fish Plant Worker will work in a fish processing plant with a fast-paced and dynamic environment. The work area will be noisy, with odors, hot and cold temperatures, and wet/damp conditions.
