Key Role Overview: This position is integral to the Security team within the Customer Identity product unit, collaborating across multiple departments to address security challenges that support the advancement of our global Customer Identity operations.

Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain automation processes to enhance platform security capabilities, including logging, threat detection, and compliance standards.
- Contribute to operational security commitments by adopting an attacker’s mindset, evaluating risks, and recommending mitigation strategies.
- Assist in security investigations in partnership with the Okta Security team, engaging in root cause analysis and executing necessary remediation actions.
- Advise stakeholders on mitigation strategies for outdated software and manage security vulnerabilities and patching processes.
- Develop security detection mechanisms and incident response protocols.
- Implement security automation and orchestration.
- Conduct web application penetration testing and adhere to OWASP Top 10 and secure coding best practices.
- Demonstrate proficiency in at least one programming language, such as Python or JavaScript.
- Experience working with a globally distributed and remote team.
- Engage in site reliability engineering and governance, risk, and compliance initiatives.
