Job Title: Speech Language Pathologist II

This is a multi-site position based out of the Bonnyville Community Health Services Site. The successful candidate will provide Speech Language Pathology services in Bonnyville Community Health Services and Bonnyville Healthcare Centre.

About the Role

As a Speech-Language Pathologist, you will provide clinical professional practice both independently and as a part of a collaborative team, which may include external partners. Your responsibilities will include providing prevention, health promotion, identification, assessment, intervention, and case management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical professional practice in Speech Language Pathology services
  • Participate in the planning, coordination and delivery of rehabilitation services in collaboration with patients/clients, families, healthcare professionals and other partners
  • Supervise students and provide clinical guidance to other staff as appropriate
  • Use clinical expertise to inform ongoing quality improvement, service integration, and program development
Requirements

The successful candidate will have a Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology and be actively registered and in good standing with the Alberta College of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists (ACSLPA). Certification in Basic Life Support - Healthcare Provider from the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation is also required. One year experience in a rural setting is preferred, as is experience with preschool populations and working in a multi-disciplinary team. Generalist experience with dysphagia, childhood apraxia of speech, stuttering and voice and resonance are also preferred.
