Position Overview:

We are currently seeking a skilled accountant with a Canadian CPA designation (CA, CGA, or CMA) to fill the role of Audit Manager. This position is integral to our mission of providing high-quality assurance and tax services to our diverse clientele, which includes owner-managed businesses, not-for-profit organizations, and agricultural enterprises.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Engaging with small to medium-sized businesses across various sectors on a range of projects, including notice to reader, review, and audit assignments.
  2. Preparing both corporate and personal tax filings.
  3. Assisting in the planning, execution, and completion of diverse Audit, Review, and Compilation projects, both independently and collaboratively.
  4. Evaluating financial data, accounting practices, and operational procedures; conducting account reconciliations and recommending necessary adjustments.
  5. Preparing intricate personal, corporate, non-profit organization, and charitable tax returns.
  6. Overseeing junior staff during fieldwork, updating Partners on engagement progress, and managing overall engagement timelines.
  7. Delivering personalized, attentive service to clients to foster strong working relationships.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  1. 3-5 years of post-qualification experience in public accounting.
  2. Experience in assurance services is preferred.
  3. In-depth knowledge of Canadian GAAP, audit and review processes, and tax compliance regulations.
  4. A solid foundation in bookkeeping and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  5. Exceptional organizational and time management skills, along with the capacity to make independent decisions.
  6. Strong technical skills, including proficiency in accounting software and adaptability to new technologies.
  7. A collaborative mindset with a focus on client service excellence.
