Job Summary
The Human Resources Generalist will serve as a business partner to assigned client groups, providing guidance and advice on People and Culture management-related matters. This role will help mitigate risks and drive improvements in areas such as employee engagement and satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead assigned People and Culture management-related projects of low to moderate complexity and/or impact.
- Participate in, support, and coordinate components of People and Culture management-related projects of high complexity and/or impact to the organization.
- Collaborate with relevant People and Culture management team members and external vendors to address specialized People and Culture management-related matters.
- Partner with assigned client groups to diagnose People and Culture management-related issues, understand and anticipate needs, and recommend solutions.
- Develop and implement solutions to assist client groups and the organization in achieving improvements in areas such as employee engagement and satisfaction, recruitment, leadership, and career development.
- Collaborate with People and Culture Consulting team members and other relevant stakeholders to support the execution of strategies, programs, and initiatives to drive organizational changes.
- Prepare policies and processes of low to moderate complexity for review and refinement.
- Develop and customize training materials and participate in the delivery of higher-impact training sessions.
- Lead recruitment efforts for assigned client groups, developing and maintaining a robust talent pipeline using various sources.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Community college or university degree in business administration or a related field.
- 3 or more years of work experience in a human resources generalist role.
- Solid knowledge of human resources management-related legislations and disciplines, including compensation, pension and benefits, labor relations, training, and disability management.
- Solid consulting skills, business acumen, and ability to assess business issues and provide sound advice and solutions.
- Strong ability to exercise sound judgment, establish trust and credibility, and persuade and influence stakeholders.
- Solid relationship management abilities and exceptional interpersonal skills.
- Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) Certification from Human Resources Professional Association is considered an asset.
