About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team at Pet Valu. As a key member of our software development team, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our e-commerce platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with developers and business stakeholders to clarify requirements and ensure testability, consistency, and completeness.
  • Participate in team retrospectives, suggesting and implementing improvements to our testing processes.
  • Create test scenarios based on user stories and participate in story pointing sessions.
  • Ensure accurate and complete success criteria is defined for each user story and that the definition of done is met.
  • Perform backend database testing in Microsoft SQL environment, including validating stored procedures, jobs, and triggers.
  • Execute and evaluate manual or automated test cases and report test results.
  • Identify potential quality issues and escalate them to management immediately.
  • Ensure that validated deliverables meet functional and design specifications and requirements.
  • Isolate, replicate, and report defects and verify defect fixes.
  • Experience using JIRA and Zephyr Squad is an asset.

Requirements

  • College diploma or University degree in a quantitative field.
  • 5+ years software testing and support experience, with a strong background in retail domain, agile, and testing.
  • Good analytical and organizational skills, with a strong understanding of ERP finance and supply chain flows.
  • Experience with business applications supporting capabilities like inventory replenishment and assortment planning.
  • Well-versed in all QA processes and good ecommerce experience with payments and order flows.
