Dream is seeking a Corporate Accounting Manager

At Dream, we are committed to fostering a dynamic and innovative environment. Our Finance Team is in search of a Corporate Accounting Manager who will play a pivotal role in overseeing the accounting, reporting, and strategic initiatives for our joint venture.

The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented, analytical, and proactive team player. You will demonstrate creativity in problem-solving to achieve optimal outcomes.

You will consistently exhibit initiative, manage a diverse range of responsibilities, and serve as a business partner to various stakeholders. Your ability to learn quickly and maintain a comprehensive perspective on managing multiple deliverables will be essential in our fast-paced environment. You will be adept at working independently on several projects with stringent deadlines while adapting to shifting priorities.

Key Responsibilities:

In this role, you will be responsible for:

Overseeing and contributing to quarterly financial reporting outputs, including consolidated financial statements and Management Discussion & Analysis (MD&A), ensuring the accuracy and integrity of external disclosures. Participating in the monthly and quarterly financial closing processes for both internal and external reporting, as well as submitting financial results to joint venture partners. Investigating complex accounting matters, corporate transactions, and lease agreements, while drafting technical accounting policies and documentation. Identifying opportunities for report automation and process enhancements, and managing or supporting corporate accounting and cross-functional projects for the joint venture. Reviewing or preparing financial analyses for monthly and quarterly management reporting, including assessments of key financial performance indicators. Managing and contributing to the corporate accounting functions for Dream, which includes reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations, intercompany allocations, G&A analysis, debt and interest analysis, and balance sheet assessments. Supporting the corporate G&A budgeting and forecasting processes for the joint venture. Assisting with quarterly and annual compliance reporting, including statutory financial statements for legal entities. Maintaining robust internal controls, including updating and preserving documentation of controls, and optimizing financial systems and reporting. Assisting the Tax department with compliance reporting information requests and financial inquiries. Collaborating with external auditors to facilitate the quarterly review and annual audit processes. Working closely with strategic finance, debt finance, FP&A, development accounting, property accounting, operations, treasury, and investments teams to provide financial insights and conduct analyses as required. Mentoring and guiding junior team members.

Required Experience and Skills:

We are looking for candidates who possess the following qualifications:

CPA, CA with a minimum of 3+ years of post-qualification experience, ideally with a background in public accounting or public company reporting, along with experience in team management; Strong technical expertise in IFRS, preferably within a real estate context; Experience with consolidations, complex accounting challenges, acquisitions and divestitures, and joint venture frameworks; Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the use of intricate formulas; Strong financial acumen with the capability to translate numerical data into a business context; Excellent analytical skills; experience in managing complex transactions, including M&A and joint venture structures; A proficient communicator who can distill complex information and simplify concepts for diverse audiences; Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining meticulous attention to detail; Capacity to work autonomously and engage collaboratively with various functions; and A self-driven, accountable, energetic, and hands-on professional with exceptional organizational skills.
