Job Title: Long Haul Truck Driver

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Long Haul Truck Driver to join our team at North Delta Transport Ltd.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for driving a tractor-trailer combination to transport goods and materials across the country. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong communication and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive Safely: Operate a tractor-trailer combination to transport goods and materials across the country, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
  • Load and Unload Goods: Load and unload goods at designated locations, ensuring that all cargo is properly secured and accounted for.
  • Perform Pre-Trip and Post-Trip Inspections: Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure that it is in good working condition and to identify any potential issues.
  • Maintain Vehicle: Perform routine maintenance tasks on the vehicle, including checking tire pressure, oil levels, and brakes.
  • Communicate with Dispatch: Receive and relay information to central dispatch, including updates on delivery status and any issues that may arise.
  • Record Cargo Information: Record cargo information, including weight, dimensions, and any special handling requirements.
Requirements:
  • Driver's License: Possess a valid Class 1 or A driver's license.
  • Experience: Have a minimum of 2 years of experience as a long haul truck driver.
  • Certifications: Hold a valid driver's certification and any other required certifications for the job.
