We are currently seeking a Day Camp Counselor to contribute to our dedicated team of professionals.

This full-time contract role is part of the Association and is based at the YMCA of Northeastern Ontario's Poplar location.

Under the guidance of the Supervisor of Recreational Programming or the Manager of Day Camps and Community Development, the Day Camp Counselor will be responsible for planning and executing programs to ensure participant satisfaction.

The ideal candidate is energetic, enjoys collaborating within a forward-thinking team, has a passion for working with children, and is adept at managing multiple responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement daily activities, including group games, arts and crafts, swimming, and outdoor play.
  • Utilize behavior management strategies with program participants.
  • Oversee the inventory of necessary supplies and request additional items as needed.
  • Welcome all children into the programs.
  • Foster relationships with members and guests, promoting the YMCA as a charitable organization.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading group activities for children aged 3 to 12 years (e.g., babysitting).
