Your Opportunity:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Clinical Surgical Assistant to join our team at the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital in Northern Alberta. As a key member of our surgical team, you will provide critical support to our Specialist General Surgeons in orthopedics, OBS/GYN, and other general surgery procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in surgical procedures, observing physiological responses of patients and maintaining a safe and sterile environment.
  • Prepare patients for surgery, perform pre-operative assessments, and assist with the insertion of devices such as nasogastric tubes, IVs, and intra-arterial lines.
  • Collaborate effectively with all team members to ensure seamless patient care and efficient surgical processes.
  • Participate in clinical committees, research, and special projects to enhance surgical practices and patient outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of current Clinical Surgical Assistant theory and practice.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
