We are seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant to join our team at Waypoint Centre for Mental Health Care. As a Physician Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of therapeutic patient care and transition plans.
Key Responsibilities- Assess patient condition and needs based on interviews, interaction, and direct observation, contributing to the development and implementation of therapeutic patient care and transition plans.
- Develop therapeutic rapport with patients and families and provide education.
- Document patient care and compliance with quality standards under physician supervision.
- Order and conduct preliminary review of results of investigations under physician supervision.
- Contribute to a safe, therapeutic environment through adherence to the PACCC standards and program/facility-wide policies and procedures.
- Graduate of an accredited physician assistant training program.
- Certified or eligible to be certified through the PACCC.
- Previous experience in acute care medicine and mental health an asset.
- Experience with patient safety including emergency patient care procedures.
- Proficiency in English language; working knowledge of French language an asset.
Waypoint Centre for Mental Health Care offers a supportive environment with accessible supervision, ideal for skill consolidation. We provide comprehensive team-based care and have included Physician Assistants in the delivery of Integrated Care since 2020.
This role offers the opportunity to work with a multidisciplinary team, providing physical health and psychiatric services to patients. You will have the chance to develop your skills and contribute to quality improvement initiatives within the hospital.
