Quality Control Specialist

FNX-INNOV is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Quality Control Technician to join our team for a major project on the south shore of Montreal.

In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the highest standards of quality are met throughout the construction process. You will collaborate closely with contractors and engineers to ensure that all materials and installations adhere to project specifications and industry best practices.

Responsibilities
  • Collaboration & Planning: Work alongside contractors to validate inspection points and procedures outlined in their quality plan. Review project blueprints and specifications, meticulously verifying material compliance and installation methods.
  • On-Site Testing & Analysis: Conduct comprehensive material control tests on-site for various construction elements, including soils, granular materials, cement concretes, and asphalt mixes. Adhere to established standards and procedures throughout the testing process.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Prepare detailed observation reports and test results to accurately document project quality assurance activities. Ensure all documentation is clear, concise, and compliant with industry regulations.
  • Material Management & Oversight: Sample granular materials, concrete, and asphalt mixes for analysis. Oversee material control activities within your assigned area of responsibility, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
  • Equipment Maintenance & Calibration: Perform routine maintenance and calibration tasks on testing equipment to ensure accurate and reliable results.
  • Project Support & Communication: Provide valuable recommendations to enhance work quality and client satisfaction. Assist the project manager and contractor's quality manager in monitoring project progress and identifying potential issues.
Qualifications
  • Possess a College Diploma (DEC) in Civil Engineering or an equivalent AEC with relevant experience.
  • Demonstrate a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in soil and material quality control within the construction industry.
  • Have a minimum of 2 years of experience working on electrical substation construction or refurbishment projects.
  • Hold a valid driver's license and have access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Be certified by ASP Construction.
  • ACI certification is considered an asset.
  • Exhibit strong teamwork skills and the ability to thrive in a challenging work environment.
