Senior Server Engineer

Push Interactions is seeking a skilled and experienced Server Engineer to join our team. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for delivering high-quality software on mission-critical projects. As a Server Engineer, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining server software code mainly in Python and Django, as well as other platforms as needed.

The work for this role is based in our Saskatoon office, requiring relocation before starting work. You must have the ability to legally work in Canada.

Responsibilities

Your primary duties will include delivering backend services to power our mobile applications and building sophisticated, secure web applications for clients. You will also be expected to assist in other tasks such as mentoring junior developers, assisting in project planning and estimation, contributing ideas to improve our processes, and helping drive the team to meet deadlines.

Typical daily tasks may include:

  1. Developing new or updating existing web applications
  2. Creating new services for apps to consume
  3. Performing code reviews
  4. Estimating project requirements
  5. Providing input on API architecture
  6. Assisting colleagues with problem-solving
Required Skills

We are looking for candidates with:

  1. At least 3 years of development experience
  2. Strong Python skills
  3. Ability to craft new API specifications and develop to provided specifications
  4. Drive to build and maintain quality software that is mission-critical to our clients
  5. Ability to collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team
  6. Initiative to deliver working software quickly and effectively
  7. Enthusiasm to work in an iterative agile development process
  8. Ability to think about long-term maintenance when creating or maintaining software
  9. Experience with Git
  10. Ability to stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in relevant server development technology
Education

A Bachelor's Degree or higher is preferred.

  4. Unit testing and test automation tools
  5. Developing web services and APIs for mobile apps to consume
