About the Role:
Giant Tiger is seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Grocery Associate to join our team in Charlottetown. As a key member of our store team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining a high level of store appearance, and ensuring a seamless shopping experience for our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide excellent customer service, responding to customer inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Operate electronic cash registers, mainline, and self-checkouts, accurately recording customer transactions and maintaining a high level of accuracy.
- Replenish merchandise around the checkout area, maintaining a well-stocked and organized store environment.
- Follow up on hot selling items, completing markdowns and SKU changes as needed, and maintaining planograms, labels, tickets, and signing standards.
- Perform cycle counts, ensuring inventory accuracy and maintaining a high level of store appearance.
- Ensure compliance with all policies, including those related to tobacco and lottery sales, and maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
Requirements:
- Strong customer service skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to handle a variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on attention to detail and effective communication.
- Ability to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, and weekends, with a minimum of 35-40 hours per week.
- Physical demands of the position include standing, walking, bending, twisting, and lifting up to 18 kg (40 lbs.), with the ability to perform repetitive tasks and operate equipment safely.
