Wood is seeking a talented Civil Designer to contribute to our dynamic Minerals and Metals team in Vancouver, BC. This role will report directly to the Engineering Manager and offers an opportunity to make a real impact on global sustainability efforts.

About the Role:

  • Utilize your expertise in civil engineering design principles to support projects within the mining, industrial facilities, and infrastructure sectors.
  • Collaborate with a team of experienced engineers and designers to develop innovative solutions for complex challenges.
  • Contribute to the execution of mining and mineral projects across diverse geographical locations.

Your Expertise:

We are looking for an individual with a proven track record in civil engineering design. You possess strong technical skills and a passion for delivering high-quality results.

  • Hold a Diploma in Civil Engineering Design Technology.
  • Have over 5 years of relevant design experience within mining, industrial facilities, and infrastructure projects.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D software.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of various coordinate systems and geodetic elevation references.
  • Be skilled in processing topographic data, setting survey reference points, and establishing project coordinate systems.
  • Have experience drafting and designing within a consulting engineering environment.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of stormwater management systems, including sizing calculations and erosion control design.
  • Exhibit strong organizational, technical, and communication skills.
  • Be able to effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Thrive in both independent work settings and collaborative team environments.
