About the Role

ADGA Group of Companies is seeking a skilled Technician in Material Life Cycle Management to join our team in a long-standing defense program that we have been supporting for over 20 years.

This role involves ensuring the management of material life cycles for the following products:

  • For the first role, it involves maintaining physical communication systems, such as voice and/or data communications.
  • For the second role, it involves maintaining tactical sensors, such as geomatic systems, chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) decision support tools, armament location systems, radars, and electronic warfare systems.

The tasks include:

  • Conducting technical studies and analyses to provide technical solutions to technical, logistical, or operational requirements/problems stated, including the preparation of technical modifications.
  • Preparing and issuing modification notices for material (MCN) when changes affect final articles such as part numbers, drawing numbers, manufacturer codes, quantities, and applicability.
  • Defining standards and criteria for equipment or system maintenance.
  • Preparing, modifying, or updating specifications and drawings.
  • Preparing, modifying, or updating maintenance manuals, part lists, user manuals, instructions, and technical orders.
  • Managing configuration.
  • Following and reporting on managed material, including cataloging activities, spare parts, replacement parts, obsolescence issues, upgrade options, and disposal activities.
  • Performing maintenance data analysis, repair, and revision.
  • Investigating unsatisfactory condition reports (UCR) and technical failure reports (TFR).
  • Other tasks as necessary.

Qualifications

  • Must hold a valid SECRET clearance from Public Works/PSPC. We can duplicate a valid MDN clearance if it is still active.
  • We are looking for candidates who have worked as technicians (in any technical field) within the Canadian Armed Forces.
  • Experience in preparing technical documentation, including requirements, specifications, control lists, bulletins, reports, proposals, and disposal plans.
  • Desirable experience includes:
    • Developing information notes and presentations to address technical and logistical questions related to equipment.
    • Ensuring liaison with stakeholders to support equipment life cycle management.
    • Providing advice, guidance, and recommendations on technical matters to support senior management decision-making.
    • Using a recognized process framework or LCMM manual.
    • Working on an enterprise resource planning (ERP) software (e.g., SAP) for equipment cataloging.
    • Working on the ERP to coordinate equipment distribution.
    • Working on the ERP for maintenance and development of control lists.
    • Evaluating deficiencies in technical failure reports (TFR) and unsatisfactory condition reports and providing solutions.
    • Analyzing operational requirement statements (ORS).
    • Reviewing technical data packages (TDP).

Education Requirements

  • Candidates should hold a university degree in electronics, computer science, or a relevant technical field required to support land command and control systems (LCSS).
  • Have demonstrated a level of qualification 6B (NQ6B) in a relevant technical field (within the Canadian Armed Forces) required to support LCSS and demonstrated a minimum substantive rank of warrant officer in the Canadian Armed Forces.
