We are currently seeking a temporary, full-time Cardiology Technologist I to join our Cardiac Diagnostics department. This role is pivotal in providing essential cardiac testing services to our patients.

Position Overview:

As a Cardiology Technologist I, your primary responsibility will be to prepare patients for non-invasive cardiac assessments aimed at identifying cardiac irregularities and evaluating cardiac function. You will conduct tests such as Holter Monitoring, Exercise Tolerance Testing, and Ambulatory Monitoring.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare and educate patients on the procedures and equipment used during testing.
  2. Gather patient history and document necessary information for physician review.
  3. Analyze and summarize test outcomes, generating detailed reports for medical interpretation.
  4. Ensure proper setup, calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of cardiac equipment.
  5. Implement resuscitation measures when required.
  6. Mentor and orient new staff and students, contributing to the evaluation of cardiology trainees.
  7. Act as a clinical resource, providing guidance on cardiology technology to both staff and patients.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of a certificate program from an accredited institution in Cardiology Technology. Active or eligible registration with the Alberta Society of Registered Cardiology Technologists (ASRCT) and the Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists (CSCT). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in exercise tolerance/stress testing within the last two years. Familiarity with Holter and event monitor application, processing, and review. Proficiency as a Connect Care super user and knowledge of IT systems such as MUSE and Spacelabs BP.
