We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Attendant, Dog Care and Welfare to join our team at the CNIB Canine Campus. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care and welfare to our canine residents, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being.
Key Responsibilities- Provide daily care and attention to our dogs, including feeding, exercising, and grooming.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for our canine residents, including kennel maintenance and waste disposal.
- Assist with health checks and administer treatments as needed.
- Monitor the behavior and well-being of our dogs, reporting any concerns to the Supervisor, Dog Care and Welfare.
- Collaborate with our veterinary team to ensure the highest standard of care for our dogs.
- Develop and maintain relationships with our canine residents, providing a safe and nurturing environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; education in animal care or a related field an asset.
- Minimum 1 year of experience working with dogs, preferably in a kennel or animal care setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with our veterinary team and other stakeholders.
- Ability to lift 25 pounds and stand for long periods, with a willingness to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
