Bridge Inspector/ Field Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Bridge Inspector/ Field Engineer to join our team in Vancouver. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and completing condition inspections of existing bridges and other structures. Additionally, they will develop and cost five-year operational plans and provide life-cycle costing and long-term capital planning.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Conduct condition inspections of bridges and other structures to assess their condition and identify any necessary repairs or maintenance.
  2. Develop and cost five-year operational plans for bridge and structures management programs.
  3. Provide life-cycle costing and long-term capital planning for bridge and structures management programs.
  4. Enhance and maintain the use of our transportation structures asset management system, Asset Management eXpert (AMX).
Requirements
  1. Undergraduate degree or diploma in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited post-secondary institution OR 5+ years of direct field experience.
  2. Experience completing condition inspections/ construction inspections on bridges and transportation structures OR relevant experience as a field/ site engineer.
  3. Strong communication and organization skills, including report writing.
  4. Proficient in MS Excel and Word (required).
  5. Familiarity working with database software is an asset.
  6. Familiarity with bridge inspection and management systems which may include British Columbia Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructures BMIS, Alberta Infrastructures BIMS, and Ministry of Transportation Ontario OSIM is an asset.
  7. Fast learner with a desire to grow professionally and personally.
  8. Committed team player with ability to work independently with minimum direction when required.
  9. Shows close attention to detail and takes pride in your work, both for large and small sized projects.
  10. Willingness to travel occasionally.
  11. Valid BC Driver's License.

The salary range for this position is $66,560.00 to $99,840.00, and is commensurate with experience relative to this position.
