Your Role:
As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer within the AI organization, you will collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to enhance the application and comprehension of machine learning throughout the company. Your responsibilities will include designing scalable and optimized solutions to implement capabilities and launch machine learning products into production, facilitating automated decision-making in Flipp's offerings to boost revenue or streamline manual processes to lower operational expenses. Additionally, you will mentor Machine Learning Engineers and Scientists, elevating the standard of machine learning within the team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and sustain data processing pipelines and machine learning model deployment infrastructure; consistently enhance the machine learning framework to standardize and automate workflows.
- Design and implement modeling strategies utilizing advanced machine learning algorithms, including recommendation systems and natural language processing.
- Establish monitoring solutions to assess the health and performance of machine learning data pipelines, proactively identifying and resolving issues.
- Conduct routine performance tuning and optimization of machine learning data pipelines to fulfill service level agreements and scalability demands.
- Guide and mentor junior and intermediate team members in their professional development.
- Articulate and communicate technical strategies regarding the creation of scalable machine learning solutions with built-in flexibility to the leadership team.
Qualifications:
- 4+ years of relevant experience as a Machine Learning Engineer or in a comparable position.
- Proficiency in Scala, Spark, Python, and related big data technologies and distributed computing.
- Experience in constructing scalable data architectures using tools such as Airflow and Databricks.
- Strong understanding of standard machine learning techniques and algorithms.
- Experience deploying machine learning models in production while adhering to backend software engineering best practices.
- Ability to initiate, drive, and lead projects to completion with effective cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Demonstrated expertise in at least one of the following areas:
- Recommendation systems (e.g., filtering, personalization through deep learning/embeddings, semantic relevance).
- Language understanding (e.g., text representation, NLP/LLM, semantic extraction).
- MLOps platforms (model lifecycle management, deployment, serving, monitoring).
