Job Title: Inuktitut Translator/Interpreter

Job Summary:

Kativik Ilisarniliriniq (La commission scolaire du Nunavik) is seeking a highly skilled Inuktitut Translator/Interpreter to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a vital role in ensuring effective communication between our stakeholders and the Inuit community.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide accurate translations of documents and interpret at meetings to facilitate efficient communication in Inuktitut and either English or French.
• Collaborate with our team to develop and implement language strategies that promote cultural understanding and exchange.
• Develop and maintain relationships with Inuit community members, organizations, and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
• Stay up-to-date with language trends, best practices, and cultural nuances to provide high-quality translation and interpretation services.

Requirements:

• Fluent in written and spoken Inuktitut.
• Fluent in either English or French.
• Computer literate.
• Able and willing to travel upon request.
