About the Job

We are seeking a skilled Construction Labourer to join our team at K-W DRYWALL SERVICES LTD. As a key member of our crew, you will be responsible for assisting in various aspects of construction projects, including loading and unloading materials, erecting and dismantling forms and scaffolding, and assisting in framing houses and building roofs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Loading and Unloading Materials: Safely load and unload construction materials, such as drywall, lumber, and tools, from trucks and equipment.
  • Erecting and Dismantling Forms and Scaffolding: Assist in setting up and taking down forms and scaffolding, ensuring they are secure and meet safety standards.
  • Assisting in Framing and Roofing: Help frame houses and build roofs, including installing drywall and other materials.
  • Demolition Assistance: Assist in demolishing buildings, including removing debris and hazardous materials.
  • Material Handling: Assist in mixing, pouring, and spreading materials such as concrete and asphalt.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Work Site Environment: Ability to work at heights, in dusty conditions, and in various locations.
  • Work Setting: Willingness to travel and work at various job sites.
  • Certifications and Licenses: Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate.
  • Physical Demands: Physically demanding work, including handling heavy loads and working in tight deadlines.
  • Weight Handling: Ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
  • Tools and Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots, hard hat, and safety glasses/goggles.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience: Previous experience in construction or a related field is an asset.
  • Language: English is the primary language of communication.
  • Work Schedule: 30 hours per week.
