Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Unit Assistant to provide exceptional support to our nursing team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for scheduling appointments, preparing charts, and assisting patients with a high level of professionalism and compassion.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Schedule appointments and consults with patients and healthcare providers
  • Prepare examining rooms and charts for patient visits
  • Assist patients with their needs, including answering questions and providing information
  • Order supplies and process physicians' orders in a timely and efficient manner
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Program Team Manager
Requirements:
  • 6 months of experience in a nursing unit or a related healthcare setting
  • Grade 12 or equivalent education
  • Successful completion of the St. Boniface Hospital Ward Clerk Training Program or 1 year of ward clerk experience
Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in computer systems and software
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
  • Good telephone manner and ability to work independently
  • Ability to adapt to stressful situations and prioritize tasks effectively
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to assist patients in wheelchairs and other mobility devices
