We are seeking a skilled Nurse Care Specialist to join our team at Sienna Senior Living. As a Nurse Care Specialist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality care to our residents, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide nursing care in accordance with established policies, physician's orders, and resident plans of care.
- Utilize sound nursing practice principles to deliver excellent nursing and personal care in assigned home areas.
- Ensure the safekeeping and control of medications and narcotics, and follow established protocols.
- Create a comfortable and safe environment that promotes resident dignity, autonomy, and independence.
- Seek direction from RNs when resident needs exceed experience or scope of practice.
- Exercise sound nursing judgment by reporting changes in resident status and taking appropriate action.
- Foster a collaborative team environment and provide guidance to Personal Support Workers and Unregulated team members.
- Liaise with medical team members, nurse specialists, and consultants to ensure effective clinical care.
- Continuously assess and improve nursing practice and learning needs.
- Participate in in-service programs, conferences, and workshops to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Document priorities, target dates, and strategies for individualized care plans.
- Work with residents, family members, and interprofessional teams to collect data for nursing histories and provide ongoing assessment and documentation.
Requirements:
- Diploma in Practical Nursing.
- Current registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the College of Nurses BC.
- Successful annual completion of RAI MDS certification as per Ministry of Health requirements for AIS.
- Current First Aid with CPR.
- Long Term Care Experience.
Compensation and Benefits:
- $35 per hour until wage leveling ends, then pay rates will reflect collective agreement rates.
