The Provincial Health Services Authority is dedicated to decreasing cancer prevalence, enhancing survival rates, and elevating the quality of life for individuals affected by cancer. It offers a comprehensive cancer care program across British Columbia, collaborating with regional health authorities to provide a wide array of cancer services, including prevention, screening, diagnosis, treatment, research, education, supportive care, rehabilitation, and palliative care. The organization operates multiple regional cancer centers and research facilities focused on understanding and combating cancer.

The Victoria division of the Provincial Health Services Authority provides extensive services in Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Palliative Care, and supportive services such as Nutrition, Clinical Trials, and Patient and Family Counseling. It collaborates with a network of community centers to ensure that patients can access systemic therapy within their localities.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must be eligible for licensure in British Columbia and possess Canadian certification (FRCP, FRCS, or CCFP) at the time of appointment. Candidates should also be suitable for appointment to the University of British Columbia. The department will assist the successful candidate in acquiring the necessary expertise for the role. Responsibilities may include symptom management for patients undergoing active treatment and conducting follow-up assessments. Part-time FTE candidates will also be considered.
