About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Refrigeration Mechanic Helper to join our team at Masson Appliance Sales Inc. As a key member of our team, you will assist our refrigeration technicians in maintaining and repairing refrigeration equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist refrigeration technicians in performing routine maintenance and repairs on refrigeration equipment.
  • Move tools, equipment, and other materials as needed.
  • Help tradespersons, apprentices, and other workers as directed.
  • Clean machines and immediate work areas to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities
  • This role requires a physically demanding work environment, with a combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching, and kneeling.
  • Handling heavy loads is also a requirement of this position.
  • Work under pressure to meet deadlines and ensure efficient completion of tasks.
Personal Suitability
  • Initiative and a proactive approach to problem-solving are essential for this role.
  • Organized and able to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience and Training
  • Will train the successful candidate in the skills and knowledge required for this role.
  • Participates in a government or community program or initiative that supports Indigenous people.
  • Offers mentorship, coaching, and/or networking opportunities for Indigenous workers.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with indigenous communities, indigenous-owned businesses, and organizations.
  • Provides cultural competency training and/or awareness training to all employees to create a welcoming work environment for Indigenous workers.
  • Facilitates access to Elders who can offer support and guidance to Indigenous workers.
  • This is a permanent position with a 35-hour workweek.
  • The primary language of work is English.
