About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional Senior Research Manager to lead a cross-functional team of high-performing applied scientists in the development of cutting-edge AI and NLP solutions. As a key member of our Research and Development team, you will be responsible for driving the end-to-end model development lifecycle, partnering effectively with a collaborative cross-functional team to deliver timely, well-managed software deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a high-performing team through servant leadership, setting clear expectations, modeling expected behaviors, and actively coaching.
  • Translate complex business problems into solutions with clearly defined outcomes and break down complex ideas into tractable incremental milestones.
  • Drive the development of innovative AI and NLP solutions, empowering your team to try new approaches, learn new technologies, and take informed risks with good judgment.
  • Have oversight on multiple projects and research initiatives, or oversee one large project with a team of 5+ scientists.
  • Perform hands-on research and machine learning pipeline development.
  • Manage project portfolio/pipeline and prioritize projects/staff allocation.
  • Represent projects or Labs research work towards customers.
  • Lead, manage, mentor, and coach others.

About You

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Research Manager with a PhD in a relevant discipline or Master's plus a comparable level of experience. You should have at least 5 years of practical experience building NLP/IR/ML systems, from ideation to production, and a strong track record of delivering minimum viable products in a large enterprise environment.
