About the Role
As a Health Information Management Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accurate and secure management of patient health information within our dynamic healthcare environment. You'll be responsible for maintaining electronic health records, conducting quality analysis, safeguarding patient privacy, and facilitating appropriate access to information.
Your Responsibilities
- Manage electronic health records with precision and efficiency.
- Conduct thorough quality analyses to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
- Champion patient privacy by adhering to strict confidentiality protocols and relevant regulations such as PHIPA and the Public Hospital Act.
- Foster positive relationships with patients, physicians, staff, and external stakeholders to facilitate seamless communication and compliance.
Your Qualifications
- Possess a Certified Health Information Management certification in good standing with CHIMA (Canadian Health Information Management Association) or an equivalent HIM designation.
- Hold a post-secondary education from a recognized accredited Health Information Management program.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of information privacy laws and regulations.
- Exhibit proficiency in medical terminology and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Possess exceptional organizational, time management, and self-learning abilities.
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment, adapting to changing priorities and meeting deadlines effectively.
