Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Engineer/Senior Project Manager to join our team at the City of Toronto. As a key member of our Engineering and Construction Services Division, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing various engineering projects, including planning, design, and construction of municipal public works infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and oversee the planning, design, and construction of municipal public works infrastructure projects, including storm and sanitary sewer upgrades and other stormwater management infrastructure.
  • Provide technical and engineering expertise to support project management, contract administration, and quality control/quality assurance.
  • Lead and direct multi-disciplinary project teams, including engineers, technicians, and contractors, to ensure effective teamwork and communication.
  • Develop and implement project management plans, including project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and City policies, including the Occupational Health and Safety Act and its regulations.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including elected officials, contractors, and other City departments, to ensure effective partnerships and communication.
Requirements
  • Extensive experience in project management, engineering, and construction, including experience with municipal public works infrastructure projects.
  • Registration with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) or licensing as a professional engineer in good standing in another Canadian engineering association.
  • Strong technical and analytical skills, including experience with engineering design software and project management tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including experience with stakeholder engagement and conflict resolution.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and lead multi-disciplinary project teams.
