The Opportunity:

As a Shift Operations Manager at Maple Leaf Foods, you will be part of a team of experienced professionals responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our food processing facilities. Reporting to the Chief Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily activities of the shift team, ensuring that all equipment is functioning properly, and that production is meeting quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of the shift team, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Monitor and control the operation of ammonia and freon refrigeration equipment, boilers, water treatment systems, and related auxiliaries.
  • Conduct regular rounds to identify and address any issues or concerns, and take corrective action as necessary.
  • Respond to operations requests for services, and follow up on alarms and deficiencies.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure that all aspects of facility operations are running smoothly.

What You'll Bring:

  • A 3rd Class Stationary Engineer license or equivalent experience in a shift/operating engineer role.
  • Experience with ammonia refrigeration, a strong asset.
  • Ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts with overtime as required.
  • Preference given to applicants holding a 3rd Class Stationary Engineer license.
