We are seeking a skilled and experienced cook to join our team at Sushiwood Fernie. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking complete meals and individual dishes, as well as training staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food.
Key Responsibilities- Food Preparation and Cooking: Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods to the highest standards of quality and presentation.
- Staff Training and Development: Train kitchen staff and helpers in preparation, cooking, and handling of food, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
- Supply Chain Management: Order supplies and equipment as needed to maintain a well-stocked kitchen and ensure efficient operations.
- Kitchen Operations: Supervise kitchen staff and helpers, maintaining a clean and safe working environment and ensuring that all kitchen operations run smoothly.
- Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of food, supplies, and equipment, ensuring that inventory levels are adequate and that waste is minimized.
- Cleaning and Maintenance: Clean kitchen and work areas, maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene.
- Staff Management: Recruit and hire staff as needed, ensuring that the kitchen team is well-staffed and equipped to meet the demands of the business.
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
- Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a similar role.
- Work Language: English.
- Hours: 30 to 40 hours per week.
