As a Senior Financial Services Consultant at RBC, you will cultivate, develop, and enhance relationships with our esteemed personal and small business clientele, providing significant value during critical moments. You will deliver proactive, professional financial guidance and collaborate with RBC partners to assist clients in achieving their objectives and navigating key life events. As a seasoned consultant, you possess extensive knowledge across everyday banking, investment strategies, and credit solutions, enabling you to provide a comprehensive Advisory Experience tailored to both intricate personal and business requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Exhibit empathy and understanding in all interactions with clients and colleagues, taking the time to grasp their circumstances, motivations, and concerns.
  • Effectively communicate to identify client needs, offering client-focused advice and solutions while resolving concerns at the first point of contact.
  • Leverage your advisory skills, along with the expertise of appropriate partners within the RBC ecosystem, to meet the complete spectrum of client financial needs, both personal and business-related.
  • Deliver professional advice and education, adeptly addressing complex credit and investment issues, ensuring that recommended solutions align with client needs and financial situations.
  • Promote digital empowerment by proactively guiding clients towards self-service options, while prioritizing advice and facilitating digital interactions where feasible.
  • Utilize technology to engage with clients through virtual and in-person meetings.
  • Implement effective strategies for contact and relationship building that enhance new client acquisition and retention within your local community.
  • Collaborate with leading professionals in financial planning, retirement solutions, mortgages, and business banking to ensure clients receive tailored and relevant expert advice.

Qualifications for Success

Essential Requirements

  • Valid Mutual Funds accreditation (Investment Funds in Canada or Canadian Securities Course).
  • Completion of the Certificate of Achievement in Personal Finance, offered through the Canadian Securities Institute (including Fundamentals of Personal Finance, Investment and Taxation Fundamentals, Insurance and Retirement).
  • 1-2 years of demonstrated sales experience in the financial services sector, focusing on credit and investment management.
  • Proven ability to establish trust and maintain long-term client relationships.
  • Proficiency in digital tools across various devices (smartphones, tablets, laptops, etc.).
  • Bilingualism (English and French) is required, as you will frequently assist clients with both language needs.
