About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Practical Nurse to join our team at Pioneer Ridge, a leading long-term care facility in Thunder Bay. As a key member of our care team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional resident care, promoting independence, and enhancing the overall quality of life for our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality resident care, adhering to the Standards of Nursing Practice and long-term care legislation.
  • Assume the team leader role of the Resident Home Area, overseeing resident care, staff, and environment within the RPN scope of practice.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans, ensuring residents' physical, psychological, emotional, cultural, spiritual, and social needs are met.
  • Collaborate with the Clinical Manager to ensure seamless care delivery and resident satisfaction.
  • Document resident care, assessments, and progress, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
Requirements
  • Current unrestricted certificate of competence as a Registered Practical Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Proof of current Basic Cardiac Life Support certification.
  • Knowledge of long-term care legislation, including the Long Term Care Home Act and Residents' Bill of Rights.
  • Experience in long-term care or gerontology, with a focus on resident-centered care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with residents, families, and healthcare teams.
