Job Title: Application Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Application Engineer to join our team at MEDA Engineering and Technical Services, LLC. As an Application Engineer, you will work closely with clients to develop innovative solutions to their molding needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with customers to create hot-runner solutions for complex injection molds.
  • Analyze data collected regarding customer concerns to improve hot-runner component manufacturing and design improvements.
  • Develop and present reports to explain project details, feasibilities, and proposed solutions to customers and team members.
  • Communicate with various departments within the company to address day-to-day operational requests and challenges.
  • Liaise between internal design teams, production, and customers to ensure customer needs are met.
  • Support injection mold try-outs at various facilities as required.

Requirements:

  • 5-10 years of experience in injection mold design.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Spanish an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to problem-solve while working with customers and internal staff.
  • Ability to mentor junior staff to ensure customer demands are met.
  • Experience with 3D CAD software, preferably SolidWorks.
  • Understanding of plastic part design.
  • Hands-on knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
  • Previous work involving hot-runners and systems that control the hot-runners is an asset.
  • Knowledge of mold temperature control systems.
  • Working knowledge of steel types used to manufacture injection molds, as well as the resin used in injection molding.
