Job Summary

We are seeking a Tax Compliance Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for assisting with Canadian indirect tax compliance and reporting, overseeing timely remittance of tax payments, and providing indirect tax assistance on ongoing operating initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with Canadian indirect tax compliance and reporting
  • Oversee timely remittance of tax payments (income tax and indirect tax)
  • Work with finance teams to provide indirect tax assistance on ongoing operating initiatives and respond to other indirect tax queries
  • Provide ongoing support to the Investment Tax team on any indirect tax issues or risks arising on transactions
  • Assist with enterprise-wide non-transaction tax projects or income tax compliance as directed by senior team members

Requirements

  • Enrolled in a college or university program in finance, accounting, economics, commerce, or a related field
  • Some knowledge of finance and/or tax principles preferred
  • Ability to deliver sound results while handling multiple priorities with competing deadlines
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to break down big projects into achievable components
  • Ability to build relationships and work constructively with internal colleagues and stakeholders
  • Demonstrates an ownership mindset and takes accountability for his/her responsibilities
