Indigenous Caregiver Support Specialist

Are you passionate about contributing to a nurturing and inclusive environment that fosters
the well-being of Indigenous families and communities? We are a charitable not-for-profit organization
committed to enhancing the lives and voices of Indigenous peoples, and we are seeking a Caregiver
Support Specialist to join our dedicated, respectful, and compassionate
team. If you excel in communication, build strong relationships, and possess empathetic problem-solving skills while working collaboratively with Indigenous families, Elders, and communities, we would love to connect with you.
In the Caregiver Support Specialist role, you will be a welcoming presence, an expert resource for caregivers as they integrate
into the community, ensuring they feel valued and included as part of the caregiving community. In an environment that emphasizes accountability,
transparency, and respect, you will serve as the primary point of contact and support for caregivers. Each day
you will play a vital role by facilitating access to essential resources and tools, empowering caregivers to excel in their roles with children and youth in care.
You will have the chance to manage a call line, conduct training sessions, and participate in community events and
meetings. Establishing relationships with stakeholders, community partners, and caregivers will be a fundamental aspect
of your responsibilities.
About Us: The Indigenous Perspectives Society is a provincial charitable not-for-profit organization that
amplifies the voices of Indigenous communities through culturally relevant education, professional
development, research, and policy advocacy. Our organization is uniquely dedicated to providing culturally relevant
services. For over 30 years, our programs have been fostering a deeper understanding of Indigenous
perspectives and cultural nuances, aiding in the development of successful relationships with Indigenous
communities, stakeholders, and government partners. This position is part of the Indigenous Caregivers of BC Program, delivered by the Indigenous Perspectives Society (IPS).

• Familiarity with the Child and Family Services Act, Caregiver Support Services Standards, Child

Directives, Case Management, and Supervision requirements
• Understanding of Customary Care and the philosophy of service development and delivery, as well as community and family structures
• Experience in Child Welfare Frontline Case Management systems and procedures
• Preference will be given to applicants of Indigenous descent
What We Offer:
• A healthy workplace that promotes professional development, wellness programs, and cultural
initiatives
• A competitive benefits package available after three months of employment
• Matched RRSP Group Savings Plan after six months of employment
• Annual salary range of $70,000-$75,000 based on relevant experience
• Standard working hours of Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM
Application Process:
