Process Engineering Specialist
The Process Engineering Specialist role involves overseeing the operational methodologies for the fabrication and assembly of products by analyzing component drawings, specifications, and various engineering data. This position is primarily responsible for strategizing, scheduling, executing, or coordinating stages of significant engineering projects while also developing operational sequences, estimating time requirements for each phase, and preparing detailed operation sheets.

Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with production planning to establish shop priorities and ensure the availability of essential tools and documentation within the facility.
- Participate in Advanced Quality Planning meetings to finalize the design of necessary fixtures and tooling.
- Engage with suppliers of raw materials and tools to define engineering requirements for production initiation.
- Analyze and resolve specific processing challenges for assigned projects and components.
- Prepare cost estimates for new projects, including material and processing expenses, tooling, gauges, and potential capital investments.
- Contribute to investigations aimed at enhancing productivity.
- Conduct time studies to assess operational efficiency.
- Maintain continuous process control through quality troubleshooting and process enhancement investigations.
- Regularly review all processes and operator instructions for assigned clients to ensure precision and adherence to actual procedures.
- Gather data and create statistics to illustrate equipment and system performance.
- Estimate timeframes for development, fabrication, construction, and repair tasks.
- Determine the materials and equipment necessary for projects and select appropriate codes.
- Complete work order and change work order forms to inform key stakeholders about project statuses.
- Assume project management responsibilities to coordinate the involvement of other engineers, contractors, technicians, and suppliers.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Engineering or a related field.
- A minimum of three years of relevant experience.
- Familiarity with machine processes, cutting tools, fixtures, CNC, and specialized machinery.
- Proficient understanding of ISO-TS16949 and ISO 14001 standards, along with mechanical blueprint interpretation including GD and T.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Experience with statistical analysis software and computer-aided design, manufacturing, and machining tools (e.g., AutoCAD, CAD/CAM, and SolidWorks).
