We are seeking a dedicated Quality Control Supervisor to oversee our quality assurance operations.

JOB OVERVIEW:

Reporting to the Quality Programs Manager, this role is essential in ensuring that all Quality Control Inspectors, including NDE Technicians and Gauge Lab Technicians, are properly qualified, certified, and trained. The supervisor will ensure that personnel possess the necessary skills to conduct inspections that guarantee BWXT Canada products comply with all QA programs, procedures, and customer specifications.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Training & Certification:

Organize and execute training sessions, as well as manage certification testing and re-certification processes.

Supervision and Scheduling:

Ensure inspectors adhere to safety protocols and operate efficiently in line with company regulations. Maintain employee discipline and assess performance regularly. Schedule workforce assignments to optimize productivity and manage overtime needs.

Gauge Lab Oversight:

Supervise the Gauge Lab operations, manage calibrations for master gauges, and oversee overdue calibration reports. Issue calibration certificates to clients and auditors as necessary and address any Deviation Calibration Reports.

Evaluation of QC Inspectors:

Assess the performance of internal and external QC inspectors and candidates, ensuring they meet quality standards. Conduct interviews and administer tests while maintaining independence from manufacturing processes.

Reporting and Documentation:

Develop and maintain comprehensive inspection reports and checklists to streamline complex inspection activities.

Support for Inspection Processes:

Facilitate the inspection process in operations, issue deficiency reports, and assist in interpreting technical drawings and standards.

Representation of Quality Control:

Prepare monthly reports for department managers and represent Quality Control in interdepartmental meetings. Participate in Continuous Process Improvement initiatives and assess new inspection methodologies. Communicate quality issues to manufacturing supervision and department managers.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Preferred college diploma. Technician/Technologist certification in a relevant field (Engineering, QC, QA, Welding, NDE). Minimum of five years of experience in Quality Control, ideally in a supervisory capacity. Familiarity with fitting, welding, or fabrication processes. Excellent computer and communication skills.

The salary range for this position is competitive and will be determined based on local market factors and the candidate's qualifications. The total compensation package may also include additional elements such as annual cash incentives and a comprehensive benefits package.
