Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Power Generation Engineer to join our team at The Westin Resort & Spa Whistler. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our power generation systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate Maintenance Activities: Oversee the maintenance activities of trade contractors to ensure that all work is completed to the highest standard.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and detailed records of station operations, including logs, reports, and instrument readings.
  • Problem Solving: Analyze and record instrument readings and equipment malfunctions, and assist in locating and isolating system problems.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine equipment maintenance, including cleaning and lubricating machinery and equipment.
  • Regulate Water Levels: Regulate water levels and monitor plant equipment and systems to detect equipment malfunctioning and ensure plant systems are operating normally.
Requirements
  • Certifications: Hold a Stationary Engineer 4th Class certification and a Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate.
  • Equipment Experience: Have experience with alarms, chillers, compressors, condensers, cooling towers, diesel generators, distributed control systems (DCS), electronic controls, HVAC, heat exchangers, low-pressure boilers, pumps, switches, and valves.
  • Physical Demands: Be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
  • Personal Suitability: Possess excellent oral communication skills, be a team player, and have flexibility and dependability.
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will be required to work in a physically demanding environment, with exposure to heights, confined spaces, and noisy conditions.
