Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive cost accounting and budgeting tasks for designated operational groups, ensuring adherence to established guidelines and policies set by Finance Leadership.
  • Collaborate with Business Leaders and Managers to formulate operational unit budgets, which includes:
    • Gathering and evaluating historical cost and activity data to create budget forecasts;
    • Making necessary adjustments with justifications based on historical and projected financial conditions;
    • Preparing justifications for various budget items, including operating expenses and capital expenditure forecasts.
  • Generate regular performance and variance reports in collaboration with Business Leaders and Managers, analyzing activities and expenditures to clarify variances and suggest corrective measures.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant accounting and financial systems, providing guidance to operational teams on the application of financial procedures.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of financial policies, procedures, and reporting formats.
  • Prepare and review work orders, journal vouchers, and financial reports for accuracy and completeness.
  • Conduct research and special analyses related to operational activities, including:
    • Creating ad-hoc reports for regulatory studies and other specific inquiries;
    • Maintaining statistical databases and financial spreadsheets, summarizing data effectively;
    • Preparing and delivering reports and presentations to support budget preparation and variance analysis.
  • Engage in the development of financial management information systems, including:
    • Providing user feedback on system requirements;
    • Testing system modifications;
    • Conducting training sessions for operational teams.
  • Perform various related tasks such as local purchasing and facilities management as required.
  • Execute minor duties related to the above responsibilities.
Qualifications
  • Completion of a Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively.
  • Proficient in statistical analysis and cost-benefit analysis techniques.
  • Familiarity with computer systems and software applications used in the department (SAP, SharePoint, BW Reports, BI, and MS Office Suite).
