Job Summary

The Corporation of the Township of Tay is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Ice Rink Attendant to join our team. As an Ice Rink Attendant, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our ice rinks, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining a safe and clean environment for our users.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ice Surface Maintenance: Operate machines to clean, smooth, and prepare ice surfaces for public use.
  • Safety and Security: Monitor the safety area, report any incidents or concerns to management, and ensure that all safety protocols are followed.
  • Facility Maintenance: Clean and maintain recreational facilities and grounds, including the ice rinks, surrounding areas, and equipment.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to users, respond to inquiries, and resolve any issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Propane Tank Maintenance: Change propane tanks as required to ensure the smooth operation of our ice rinks.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: Experience in a related field is an asset.
  • Certifications: First Aid Certificate and CPR Certificate.
  • Security Clearance: A criminal record check and driving record check (abstract) are required.
  • Transportation: Own transportation and a valid driver's license are required.
Working Conditions

The Ice Rink Attendant will work in a cold/refrigerated environment, with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking. The successful candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to lift up to 25 pounds.

  • Excellent Communication Skills: Excellent oral communication skills are required to interact with users, management, and other staff members.
  • Reliability: The successful candidate must be reliable and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Team Player: The Ice Rink Attendant must be a team player and able to work collaboratively with other staff members to achieve common goals.
  • Organized: The successful candidate must be organized and able to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
