About the Role

Aecon Infrastructure Management Inc. is seeking a skilled Tunnelling Machine Operator to join our team in a dynamic and challenging environment. As a key member of our underground construction team, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining tunnel boring machines to ensure safe and efficient excavation of tunnels and underground infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain tunnel boring machines to excavate tunnels and underground infrastructure, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and quality standards.
  • Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment to ensure proper functioning and identify potential issues.
  • Secure special attachments to equipment as required for specific tunneling operations.
  • Perform minor repairs to equipment to minimize downtime and maintain productivity.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve project goals and objectives, including maintaining open communication and providing support as needed.
Requirements
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a related field, such as heavy equipment operation or tunneling.
  • Willingness to relocate for project assignments, with relocation costs covered by the employer.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail and a focus on safety.
  • Physical demands of the job include working in confined spaces, lifting heavy equipment, and standing for extended periods.
