Registered Nurse - Community Commitment Program

This involves demonstrating professionalism consistently, upholding our core values of excellence, leadership, and empathy, and embodying our Commitment to Caring.

As part of the Community Commitment Program for Nurses (CCPN), facilitated by Ontario Health, Mackenzie Health presents a limited number of stimulating RN career opportunities for nurses. Opportunities are available in various fields including Critical Care, Emergency, Inpatient Medicine, and Inpatient Surgery. For additional details regarding this program, please refer to the appropriate resources. CCPN offers $25,000 in grant funding to qualified nurses in exchange for a two-year commitment to an eligible employer.

Eligibility Criteria:

Must not have been employed as a nurse in Ontario within the six months preceding employment; Must possess a Certificate of Registration in good standing from the College of Nurses of Ontario; Must commence employment within the designated timeframe; Must commit to a two-year full-time employment schedule as provided by the employer; and Must not concurrently receive funds from the Ministry of Health for the Tuition Support Program for Nurses.

Responsibilities for Ensuring Safe, Quality Care:

Effectively manage a diverse workload in a dynamic environment. Address and resolve issues in a constructive and respectful manner. Exercise sound professional judgment and adhere to best practice guidelines. Foster a safe and inclusive atmosphere for all by complying with patient and staff safety policies and procedures.

What You Bring to the Role:

Demonstrated clinical experience in patient-centered care, including strong skills in patient assessment, care planning, education, and documentation. Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities with a solid command of English, enabling effective information delivery. Strong interpersonal and listening skills, facilitating effective collaboration with patients and families. Proven decision-making, problem-solving, and critical thinking capabilities. Commitment to quality care and safety, with the ability to apply sound professional judgment and utilize evidence-based practices. Effective organizational skills, enabling management of workload in a fast-paced setting. Capacity to address and resolve conflicts in a productive and respectful manner. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within an interprofessional team. Dedication to continuous learning and professional growth. Proficiency in computer systems, with experience in electronic medical records. Familiarity with the Regulated Health Professions Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, WHMIS, and the Standards of Practice of the College of Nurses of Ontario. Demonstrated initiative and adaptability to new or unexpected circumstances while adhering to the CNO's Ethics Practice Standard. Compliance with the CNO's Confidentiality and Privacy-Personal Health Information Practice Standard and adherence to Mackenzie Health's policies and procedures. Physical capability to meet the demands of the role, as assessed by the Occupational Health and Safety Department. Proven attendance record.
