Job Summary

Halton Healthcare is seeking a skilled Medical Device Reprocessing Technician to join our team. As a key member of our reprocessing department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient reprocessing of medical equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Reprocess medical equipment to the highest standards, adhering to guidelines and regulations set by organizations such as CSA, PIDAC, MDRAO, and Health Canada.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and colleagues to ensure all reprocessing needs are met in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities to meet deadlines.
  • Collaborate with the reprocessing team to maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety protocols and procedures.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay up-to-date with industry standards and best practices.
Requirements
  • Minimum grade 12 education required.
  • Current certificate from a recognized college Medical Device Reprocessing Course required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated experience using reprocessing equipment, such as washer disinfectors, steam sterilizers, and low-temperature sterilizers.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Aptitude for working with delicate and heavy equipment.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position.
  • Satisfactory employment and attendance record required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • MDRAO (CSAO) or CSA Certification.
  • Minimum one-year relevant experience in Medical Device Reprocessing.
  • Strong patient-centered care skills, with the ability to work in a dynamic and rapidly changing environment.
